issue 53
Dear Reader,
We are so excited to present to you this year’s edition of The Morning Glory Arts Magazine! This year has been a year of change amidst seeking normalcy and peace. People have sought to rediscover themselves and their values after spending years in isolation, and we have found new passions and joys, tried new hobbies, and grown into ourselves.
We have cultivated a new sense of community and seen our hard work be validated in the form of receiving the rank of Superior for our 2023 Morning Glory edition in the Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) Contest!
We hope to thank you for your help in achieving this Award, yet through all this change and accomplishment, it does no harm to look back on who we once were.
This year’s theme, “Nostalgia” is typically defined as a sentimental longing for the past. In this time of pushing forward it does no harm to take a moment to step back and see where you are coming from, what you have experienced, and what has shaped you into the creative individual you have become. Through this theme, students had an opportunity to examine their own histories, explore their growth over time, and look back on the past before looking ahead towards their futures.
This collection is a love letter to past selves, who they became, and to the experiences we were all shaped by. We hope you are inspired by the talent of the CLU community in this year’s publication.
